DiagCon is Coming to Manchester
DiagCon is coming!
My children were part of the ‘Harry Potter Generation’. They waited for every new book eagerly. My wife and I followed the stories, too. One time we all attended a Potter fancy dress competition at the local library. It was to celebrate the publication of the latest novel. I was Mad Eye Moody. My youngest won a prize for being Dobby. Afterwards we went went off to Asda’s to buy a copy (well past the children’s bedtime).
I well remember a terribly wet summer holiday in France. Listening to Stephen Fry reading the novels as we drove around looking for something to do, made it bearable.
What’s DiagCon About?
So, I’m really excited, then, that the organizers of this summer’s DiagCon Potter conference in July have booked me to appear. For those who aren’t familiar with any of the books, DiagCon is a subtle wordplay play on Diagon Ally (in itself a piece of wordplay), which is where wizards go shopping.
Tickets for DiagCon are already sold out, with over 3200 attending. My role will be to provide 6 x 30-minute shows each day. These will be in one of the venues at The Printworks, in Manchester. I’m already preparing a mixture of magic and mind-reading that I know will be great fun and will complement the magical Harry Potter them of the event.
Guests will be able to circulate the conference where there will be the opportunity to meet stars from the films, listen to talks, attend Q+A sessions…and buy merchandise from the myriad dealers who will be setting up stalls. It promises to be a great day out.
No Ticket?
Don’t worry if you haven’t got a ticket for DiagCon. You don’t have to wait until the summer to experience my magic. I perform at weddings, private parties, anniversary celebrations and Bar/Bat-mitzvahs. I give lecture demonstrations to local groups such as the Women’s Institute. In fact, any social occasion where people are gathered and are looking for some fun and entertainment, I can contribute and help make it an event to remember.
